How to customize packaging

Here are four steps about how to customize packaging.

What is the packaging

Packaging types include lid & base rigid boxes, magnetic book-type boxes, drawer boxes, folding boxes, mailer boxes, corrugated boxes, cardboard boxes, pillow boxes, paper bags, tissue paper, pouches, wrapping paper, etc.

Materials include cover paper and thick cardboard. The common cover wrapping paper is coated paper, brown and white kraft paper, black art paper, soft touch paper, leather-filled paper, embossed paper, and other special art papers. The common grammage is 120, 128, 150,157,180,200. less than 200 grams for cover paper.

Cardboard includes one side white, one side black, double sides gray, single white with white core, single black with black core, fiberboard, gold cards, silver cards, etc. The common grammage is 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000. 1200 1500 1800 2000g etc.

The finishing is added on the surface of the boxes and also on the LOGO. Surface finishing includes lamination, and varnishing. The matte lamination, gloss lamination,  matte & gloss varnishing, anti-scratch film lamination, soft touching film, holographic film, half matte and gloss oil, wear-resistant oil, anti-scratch oil, embossing oil, semi-gloss matte oil are included.

The popular special finishings for adding on a logo are hot stamping, embossing, 3D Hot foil(emboss and hot foil), Spot UV, flocking, glitter, laser, grating finishing, etc.

Colors and printing are 4C colors, Pantone colors, more than 4C colors, metallic colors, UV colors, etc.

Inner tray: paper tray, EVA, sponge ( foam ), EPE, electronic foam, satin cloth, lining, blister, etc.

Other accessories: rope ribbons, magnets, 3M adhesive, envelopes, handles, eyelet, and metal connection.

Regular sets: book-shaped box with EVA, folding box with paper tray, satin cloth can be added on the sponge.

How to customize packaging

Select the right box type. 

The large box is better to choose the folding box style which saves much shipping costs by shipping flat. If the inner tray is rigid EVA or sponge, it is better to use rigid boxes such as magnet boxes, lid & base boxes, and drawer boxes. It’s cheaper than folding boxes and easy to assemble.

Confirm all details like materials, size, finsihing.

Let us confirm the thickness of the material together and use the appropriate inner tray, and then design the color, logo, finishing, accessories, etc. Not the thickest material is the best choice. The thick Material is appropriate enough to protect the products in the box, but also has to consider the cost to pick the right material. Simple background color uses Pantone printing. Its color effects and quality are more stable. According to the number on the Pantone book, it’s better to check and confirm the color. If it is more than one color, it’s better to use the four-color printing, according to the file color or clients’ samples to match the color. The inner tray will be customized according to the size of the product, combined with which one you like, as well as a reference to the shipping costs by air and sea.

Check the costs based on all info.

Confirm the cost and adjust the modification according to the cost. After all the details are confirmed including the size, material, color, logo finishing, inner tray, etc, it is very quick to calculate the cost and share it with you. Thinking about the production costs, quoted price, and your budget, then check together if you find more workable solutions to save costs. The best box may be not the most expensive, or the cheapest, but It needs to fit your positioning and market, as well as your budget and product, company culture, etc.

Create samples to review and adjust

Send some free stock samples.Checking the quality and details by some stock samples. It only costs 30-50 USD for express shipping costs. We will ship some boxes, bags, tags, cards, stickers, thank you cards, and tissue paper to you to review the quality, finishing, size, materials, etc.

The stock samples should be of a similar size, material, and finishing to confirm if it is what you want, and it will cost you less to receive and confirm quickly.

Artwork confirmed and custom samples approved.It’s much appreciated if you prefer to make custom samples to confirm all details. This will take about 12 days to receive the sample and costs about 150USD for samples. If 1000 pcs boxes are placed, 50 USD will be refunded for the proof. For 2000 orders, 100USD will be refunded. For 3000 orders, 150usd will be refunded.

Small trial order to test

If you think the sampling fee is very expensive and it takes too long, and you want to get mass production cheaper and faster, we suggest you place a small order directly and try out the products in bulk. This requires about 650usd for 100 boxes, the approximate production time is about 20-25 days, and the approximate time for shipping to the US by sea is about 25-30 days.
